Yung Joc Speaks On New Mixtape "Ready To Fly," Says His Career Isn't Over

Yung Joc tries to flip Biggie's classic "Ready to Die" cover and title, calls himself "Tha Notorious J.O.C." and speaks on new mixtape, "Ready to Fly."

Former Bad Boy artist Yung Joc may not be in the public eye like he was when he told fans that it was "goin' down," but he is now preparing a new mixtape to present to his supporters, a tape titled Ready to Fly. He recently spoke to MTV about this new mixtape, the idea that it's "over" for him and his career in the music industry.

"I think this mixtape is definitely one of those ones that people should definitely check out, especially for the naysayers that's like, 'It's over for that guy.' That's cool too. There are a lot of cats that people say it's over for," he said. "I remember on my last mixtape, Grind Flu, I got a song with Chris Brown. I remember people were like, 'Why you got Chris on there? It's over for him.' Look at him now."

He then went on to explain that he hopes people can gravitate towards his music now, saying fans can expect several videos from Yung Joc in the near future.

"It's just funny how people jump ship so fast. It don't take but a little buzz, a little heat up under that frying pan to heat things up, and people are right back on the bandwagon," Joc added. "Hopefully that's what this mixtape will do, because I'm gonna keep coming, dropping video after video."

The album takes its cover and title from Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready to Die, with Joc also calling himself "Tha Notorious J.O.C." on the cover. DJ Sense and DJ Demp appear on the tape as hosts. Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti and 8Ball appear as guests.
