Smoke DZA Speaks On His Collaborations With Bun B, Big K.R.I.T. & Curren$y

The Harlemite explains why it was natural for him to link with K.R.I.T. and Spitta.

Smoke DZA is gearing up for the August 30th release of his new album Rolling Stoned, which features guest appearances from Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Curren$y and a handful of others. Speaking with Paul Meara during Mereablog’s Podcast, the weed-friendly rapper explained that linking up with K.R.I.T. and Spitta was natural.

“Working with K.R.I.T. and Spitta was a pleasure because those guys are like family to me. I’ve been on the road for the past two years on tour,” he said. “It’s a pleasure working with them because it helps me up my ante, when you’re dealing with talented artists who say some shit to make you switch your verse up. Working with them is a pleasure, because it’s like playing one-on-one with a player who’s as talented as you.”

He also spoke on linking with Bun B for “On the Corner,” a collaboration that also features K.R.I.T. The Harlem, New York native explained that getting a look from the UGK member was more than a blessing.

“Working with Bun was an honor because I respected Bun for a long time, and for him to be on the same record as me and fuck with it, be like, ‘Man nephew, I got you, whatever you need,’ it’s an honor man.”
