Mistah F.A.B. To Host Charity Basketball Tournament "Ballin' For Peace"

Mistah F.A.B. is preparing to host a charity basketball tournament this weekend in Oakland.

With this year's I Found My Backpack already in stores and his fourth studio album The Bus Ride (formally Da Yellow Bus Rydah) reportedly set for a release later this year, Mistah F.A.B. is looking to give back to the community. The Bay Area rapper is now preparing to host a basketball charity event in his native Oakland.

In a recent press release, Fabby Davis, Jr. announced that he will be hosting a charity basketball tournament on August 21. The event, which is titled "Ballin' For Peace," will also distribute backpacks and school supplies to Oakland students on a first-come, first-serve basis.

"I think it's important to show the kids that we care about them and I wanted to do something to encourage them to stay in school and on the right path, especially in light of all the violence that we’ve had in this city recently," F.A.B. said of the give-away event., "It's hard times for a lot of families here in Oakland and this is my way of giving-back."

A number of other local celebrities are set to appear at the event as well. Bay Area legend Too $hort will make an appearance, alongside Dorell Wright of the Golden State Warriors and former Oakland Raiders linebacker Kirk Morrison.

As previously mentioned, "Ballin' For Peace" will take place this Sunday August 21. The event wil be held at 44th Street and Linden Street in North Oakland beginning at 1:30 PM.
