Veteran Warren G-Affiliated Female Group Da 5 Footaz Plan Mixtape, Album

A blast from the G-Funk past reappears, with plans to formally release their third album, after two shelved major label efforts in the '90s.

With origins tracing back to Warren G's multi-platinum 1994 debut album Regulate...G Funk Era, California female Rap septet Da 5 Footaz would go on to sign with Def Jam Records before recording two albums. The collaborative unit of Jah Skillz, NebLuv, Knehi, Cobra (a/k/a Red), Ka-Bar and I-AME would go onto record The Lost Scrolls and Lifetime, two works shelved by labels throughout the 1990s before being self-released online.

With appearances on the Jason's Lyric and Set It Off (as Uni-5) soundtracks, Da 5 Footaz recently announced their plans to release their third full-length, Ride of Your Life later this year. The group plans a promotional mixtape in Rewired. Release dates have yet to be announced.
