Tech N9ne Facing Lawsuit Due To Illegal Use Of Artist
Kansas City record label Klosed Kustody Records to sue rapper Tech N9ne $25,000 for the illegal use of one of the label's artists.
Missouri rapper Tech N9ne may soon have to pay up for featuring fellow rapper Brandon “Bizzy” Evans on several of his projects. According to court documents attained by AllHipHop.com Bizzy’s label, Klosed Kustody Records is suing Tech N9ne for what they claim is the illegal use of their artist. The label is suing for the amount of $25,000.
According to Klosed Kustody Records’ lawsuit, which was filed in the Circuit Court of Jackson County in Missouri, the label both managed Bizzy and entered into various contracts with the rapper. They also claimed to have the rights to release Bizzy’s music through Klosed Kustody Records.
"After their introduction to Evans, Defendants began a course of conduct which interfered with the contracts between Klosed Kustody and Evans,” read the complaint against Tech N9ne.
Bizzy was featured on Tech N9ne’s The Gates Mixed Plate album as well as the video for “Sex To The Beat.”
Tech N9ne, who has his own label titled Strange Music, is currently working on his next studio album titled All 6’s And 7’s. The album is scheduled to be released on June 7, 2011
The rapper has yet to respond publicly to Klosed Kustody Records’ lawsuit.
