Da Brat Reportedly Done With Prison Sentence
After a work-release in May of last year, Jermaine Dupri says one of his veteran artists is home, again.
Chicago, Illinois emcee Da Brat has had a tumultuous time since an Atlanta nightclub altercation in October of 2007 led to an aggravated assault conviction, putting the So So Def Records artist in prison for a three-year sentence. Although in May of last year, Da Brat was interviewed, and reportedly was on work-release, yesterday she was confirmed a free woman by her mentor, Jermaine Dupri.
The So So Def founder took to Twitter to welcome of his earliest label successes home.
It has been over seven years since the Funkdafied rapper released an album. Her last effort was 2003's Limelite, Luv & Nightclubz, which featured Mariah Carey and M.O.P. In 2007, the veteran was a cast member on Vh1's Celebrity Fit Club.
