Rhymefest Speaks About Social Policy, Kanye West Featuring Election Song

El Che may have 'Ye on a song coming before April 5's election, as he looks at one changed area of his ward, and talks about restoring the glory.

With the election for Chicago, Illinois' 20th Ward Alderman planned for next Tuesday April 5, emcee Rhymefest is campaigning to become to latest rapper to venture into politics. The former J Records artist recently took The Chicago Sun Times on a ride with him in his ward, and he explained some of his policy.

One area Rhymefest stopped was a onetime booming section of his ward. "This is the 'great' 63rd Street. There used to be businesses here. There used to be life here. Look at all of the vacant lots. This wasn't like this just when I was growing up," said the rapper who released El Che last year. "What I see when I walk outside my door is three kids killed in three days and two empty lots with trash."

According to TheBoomBox.com, Rhymefest also plans to soon unveil an election song featuring longtime collaborator and fellow Chicago native, Kanye West. TheBoomBox has a sample verse from 'Fest from that upcoming song.
